For this design, I opted to use deerskin over my usual material of choice, vegetable tanned cowhide. The raw edges present an unrefined contrast to the usual clean line aesthetic of leather tops and skirts. It gives the sense of a druid, a spirit intwined with the natural cycle of life and death. The unique skirt structure and natural stretch of the deerskin allows for a flattering fit on a wide range of sizes and shapes. Why should we conform to our clothes when our clothes can conform to us? Folk horror inspired.
